Ballet Classes

Many dance studios offer ballet classes for children as young as 18 months old. Many toddler curriculum includes creative movement exploration and offers plenty of opportunities for parents to get involved. Many of our youngest students start out in our “Tots and Tutus” program, where they learn to move to the music and interact with other kids.

Another popular program for young children is the Princess series ballet program. Students learn scenes from traditional stories like The Nutcracker and fairytales like Sleeping Beauty. Offered is an age specific programs for three and four year olds, as well as four to six year old. These classes include fancy costumes and fun props to stimulate the imagination.

Build Confidence in Our Ballet Classes for Children

Traditional New York dance schools often put pressure on students to achieve the impossible. Many girls come out of the experience with warped body images or with off-the-charts anxiety. We believe this kind of pressure stunts emotional growth and causes some kids to retreat socially. We’d rather offer a setting where kids can learn and grow at their own pace. We take pride in helping kids find their voices and hone their unique talents.

Many offer structured dance lessons with more of an emphasis on technique to children five years and older. Students are required to wear traditional ballet attire for these classes and they practice bar and floor exercises that are both challenging and strength building.
